Retirement KITAP (Permanent Stay Permit)

The Retirement KITAP is a 5-year visa that allows foreigners to live in Indonesia and enjoy their retirement in one of the greatest countries in the world with relative ease.
This is suitable for foreign retirees who have held a Retirement KITAS for a minimum of four years. This document remains valid for five years and offers a lifetime extension option. If you intend to travel internationally and return to Indonesia after two years, be sure to obtain a Multiple Re-entry Permit (MERP) to avoid potential difficulties and delays at Indonesian immigration upon your return.
What You Can Do with a Retirement KITAP
- Have stable residency status for five years, with the possibility of extension.
- Be eligible for a local ID card (KTP-OA), facilitating easier access to services and amenities.
- Participate in non-profit activities such as voluntary work, hobbies, and social activities.
- Travel in and out of Indonesia.
What You Cannot Do with a Retirement KITAP
- Stay in Indonesia after your visa expires.
- Work or be employed in Indonesia.
- Negate the financial requirements such as proof of income and health insurance.
Visa Validity
The Retirement KITAP is valid for 5 years and is extendable.
Document Requirements
- Original sponsorship letter from the sponsor
- Original Letter of Authorization (Surat Kuasa)
- Color copy of ID card (KTP) of sponsor (who signs the application letter)
- Original passport
- Original ITAS Online of 1st – 4th
- Color copy MERP
- Color copy SKTT
- Life and Health Insurance
- Home lease agreement for at least 1 year
- Statement of Pension fund with minimum USD 3000/month for the last 3 months
- Copy of marriage certificate – if married
- Bank statement with minimum amount of USD 2.000.- or equivalent for the last 3 months
- Others document if required.

You must be over 60 years old to apply for any retirement visa in Indonesia.
If I decide to leave Indonesia for good or the visa expires, what should I do?
You must obtain an Exit Permit Only (EPO) in order to legally leave Indonesia and terminate your KITAP.
